About Us

Fennelly Environmental Associates, LLC (FEA) is a full-service environmental consulting and engineering company committed to providing high quality services at competitive prices in New Jersey and surrounding states.
FEA’s mission is to help clients by providing customized solutions in a responsive, conscientious, and efficient manner. FEA’s main service area is New Jersey which has allowed us to develop a thorough understanding of regulatory challenges in the state. FEA has also become skilled and proficient at using the tools and methods available to address environmental remediation issues which are unique to New Jersey.

Brian Fennelly

Brian Fennelly

Principal, PE, LSRP

Brian Fennelly founded FEA in 2012.  Prior to establishing FEA, Mr. Fennelly was a Senior Associate at a large, international environmental engineering/consulting firm where his clients included Fortune 500 companies.  Mr. Fennelly has more than 28 years of experience in the environmental field.  His areas of expertise include Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Preliminary Assessments, Remedial Investigations, regulatory compliance, innovative remedial strategies, brownfields redevelopment, environmental litigation, and environmental permitting.  In 2009, Mr. Fennelly became one of the first Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) in the state of New Jersey.  Mr. Fennelly is also a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Massachusetts.  Mr. Fennelly earned a BS in Environmental Science from Syracuse University and an MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.

While not at work, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.  He also enjoys outdoor activities such as running, biking, camping, fishing, hiking, canoeing, and skiing.

Andrew Trzcinski

Andrew Trzcinski

Senior Project Manager, LSRP

Andrew joined FEA in 2018 bringing more than 20 years of knowledge in the environmental industry including laboratory, field testing, compliance, and reporting experience. After graduating from Allegheny College with a B.S in Environmental Science, Andrew gained experience serving in various roles including laboratory technician, field sampling technician, staff scientist, and project manager. In 2010, Andrew became one of the first individuals to be certified as a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) under the newly created New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) LSRP Program. Since that time, Andrew has served as a Senior Project Manager working with clients to navigate through environmental regulatory compliance requirements including site assessments, remedial investigations, environmental litigation, insurance claims, permitting, and innovative remedial strategies. Andrew has specialized experience with petroleum underground storage tank (UST) and dry cleaner sites based on years of service working with major petroleum companies, private fueling station owners, and commercial shopping centers owners.

Andrew enjoys working with clients to develop customized remedial strategies and options that are practical and cost effective. He strives to understand each client’s needs and guide them through regulatory compliance requirements. This includes presenting site issues, requirements, and responsibilities in an understandable manner as opposed to being overly technical. Andrew works to build positive relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and fellow employees, with an easy-going and attentive nature.

Andrew has continued his life-long enjoyment of various sports and still plays competitive volleyball. He has enjoyed passing along his knowledge and joy of sports to his children, as well at others, by serving as a coach in their youth baseball and soccer teams. He and his wife enjoy spending time supporting their children’s various activities, spending time with their extended families, and sharing their home with their feline and canine companions.

Sandra Szempruch

Sandra Szempruch

Project Manager, Environmental Scientist

Sandra joined FEA as an Environmental Scientist in 2014. Sandra manages the nuts and bolts of project work including coordination with contractors and service providers, data review and analysis, implementing field events, and preparing reports for submission to regulatory agencies. She also oversees FEA’s ArcMap/GIS capabilities which are utilized to create engaging and informative map and figure designs to present property information and data analytics.

Sandra strives to build long lasting and solid relationships with clients and is typically the FEA representative at project sites during investigation and remediation events. She enjoys coordinating field efforts and has overseen many of FEA’s large remediation efforts. With over 18 years of experience in due diligence, investigation, remediation system design, construction, operations, and working with NJDEP and PADEP environmental regulations, Sandra brings a wide range of experience and expertise for project oversight.

Sandra earned a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Rutgers University.

Sandra resides in PA with her family, dogs and horses. Her most precious time is spent with family or on horseback.

Professional Profile

Michelle Mirigliano

Michelle Mirigliano

Project Manager, Geologist

Michelle joined FEA in 2014. Michelle oversees FEA’s due diligence practice area and often takes the lead with Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and Preliminary Assessment assignments. Michelle also supports technical administrative functions such as preparing subcontracts, proposals, and cost estimates, scheduling site work, coordinating well drilling and other field activities, and preparing reports for submission to regulatory agencies.

Michelle has over 20 years of experience in the environmental consulting field with a focus on site remediation services. She has led and assisted staff geologists in fieldwork related tasks, and also served as field team manager for site remediation projects. Her project experience includes site assessments, remedial investigations, subcontractor management, budget development and management, and technical report writing. Michelle’s field experience includes groundwater, soil, soil gas, and indoor air sampling, chemical injections, measuring field parameters, supervision of monitoring well installation, reviewing geophysical logs, and logging of soil and bedrock.

Michelle earned a B.S. in Geosciences from Pennsylvania State University.

Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, and researching family ancestry.

Jessy Joel Martinez

Jessy Joel Martinez

Environmental Scientist

Jessy joined FEA in 2023. Jessy’s previous work experience includes field sampling, analytical chemistry, wet lab benchwork, and environmental research. Since joining FEA, Jessy has gained additional experience in environmental investigation activities including sampling ground water, soil, and soil gas. Jessy has also conducted remediation oversight and directed the drilling and construction of monitoring wells. He has completed training in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and he is fluent in Spanish.

Jessy is a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology where he earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and Environmental Science.

Outside of work, Jessy’s interests include chess, fitness, movies, and MMA. He is currently an active competitor in wrestling and jiu-jitsu. Jessy was recently ranked 2nd in the country at 155 lbs in the novice division of jiu-jitsu.
