Underground Storage Tanks
An underground storage tank system (UST) is a tank and any underground piping connected to the tank that has at least 10 percent of its combined volume underground. Federal regulations apply to underground tanks and piping storing either petroleum or certain hazardous substances. In addition, the NJDEP has adopted a number of regulations which dictate how USTs are to be managed. The process includes investigation, closure and in some cases, remediation. You can rest assured knowing that FEA has the experience and credentials to ensure that your UST project runs smoothly, whether the site is residential, industrial or municipal. We have done it all—successfully.
Our flexible approach to UST projects allows us to help you find the most cost effective, practical solution. And in order to provide the highest level of expertise for your specific situation, we maintain relationships with several UST contractors, and offer a customized approach best suited to your case.
It is critical to document all proceedings of a UST project, and FEA can provide the necessary NJDEP reporting. This may also prove valuable for future real estate transactions, since UST issues can significantly delay sales or transfers of property. FEA will make sure the project is properly documented from start to finish so that surprises can be avoided and transactions proceed smoothly.
